$8,000 Federal Tax Credit for 1st Time Home Buyers- The United States Congress passed the final version of the new economic stimulus bill & it was signed into law by President Obama on Tuesday, February 17, 2009. The law includes a new $8,000 Tax Credit for First Time Home Buyers (10% up to $8,000) for purchases closed by December 1, 2009. HUD is also announcing new options that allow the Tax Credit to be used for downpayment. 

$1800 State of Georgia Tax Credit- On May 11, 2009, the Governor signed House Bill 261 which provides a $1800 State of Georgia Tax Credit (1.2% up to $1800). This new tax credit is available for new homes and purchases must be closed by November 30th 2009.
